I very much enjoyed going to see Betty Jackson and Belle Sauvage at London Fashion Week! My highlights:
– Fur coats, heavy layering of different fabrics, cut out dresses and lots of RED at Betty Jackson.
– Prints that looked like fabric manipulations, body con and a massive HAT at Belle Sauvage.
Here are a few of my snaps:
Loving the lace, pleating and ruching at Meadham Kirchhoff Spring/Summer 2011. Beautifully delicate fabrics and interesting silhouettes. A mish-mash of colours in the collection which brings to mind a slightly ‘oddly dressed goth’ kind of style…
Imagine (like I am) these pieces in natural nudes, peaches and creams. Delicious! And much more wearable. Note to self: pale blue knit with red lace dress, not a good look. However, lace tea dresses and pleated chiffon, yes please!
For my absolute favourite photo, skip to the bottom. Deliciously pleated and laced orange silk close up. A textile dream!
On Portobello Road this week I came across some WOW factor trousers… The fabric immediately reminded me of the lace dresses from Prozena Schouler’s SS11 collection, so I had to get them. They’re a pretty horrific shape so you’re just getting a zoomed close up of the fabric.. so let’s see what they can be transformed into: Watch this space!

Wacky but fun fabric from Portobello:
Forget neon brights at Christopher Kane’s Spring 2011 collection, I was particularly impressed with his beading… Beautiful!
